Funding Your Adventures

Scouting offers adventures and experiences to our youth. The menu of what they can do and where they can go is virtually limitless. Fishing in Alaska? Scuba in Florida? A Philmont trek? Why not? How about closer to home … a campout on the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi or a trip to Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo? Even closer to home … how about buying pinewood derby cars for all the youth in your pack? Even the every day running of your unit has some level of expense associated with it: advancement awards and recognitions, equipment, supplies, uniforms, flags, facility fees, etc. Scouting is wonderful, but it isn’t free.

Funding Other's Adventures

On average, it costs the Circle Ten Council $300 to deliver the Scouting program to your Scout for 1 year. Approximately 30% of the Circle Ten Council budgeted revenue comes from the Friends of Scouting Campaign. These funds are used to maintain our four premier camps, purchase program supplies, provide free rank advancements and provide financial assistance to more than 12,000 at-risk youth, who otherwise could not afford to be in Scouting. The council can also benefit from your regular shopping through Amazon Smile or the Kroger Community Program.
