Scouting offers adventures and experiences to our youth. The menu of what they can do and where they can go is virtually limitless. Fishing in Alaska? Scuba in Florida? A Philmont trek? Why not? How about closer to home … a campout on the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi or a trip to Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo? Even closer to home … how about buying pinewood derby cars for all the boys in your pack? Even the every day running of your unit has some level of expense associated with it: advancement awards and recognitions, equipment, supplies, uniforms, flags, facility fees, etc. Scouting is wonderful, but it isn’t free.

The good news: THERE IS A WAY to pay for your unit’s annual program and teach your Scouts to be self-sufficient at the same time. Circle Ten Council offers two annual fundraisers designed to provide units an organized, guided way to raise money to meet their program goals.

How much money do you need? That’s up to you. Build a budget from the ground up. Start off by asking your Scouts what they want to do, where they want to go, and what experiences they want to have. What would it take to do those things? Some may be affordable now, some may require longer term planning. Add recurring expenses, and don’t forget things like the monthly bills of paying for a storage unit or insurance for that trailer. Add it all up, and the bottom line is how much money you need, from one source or another. Every year, there are units that pay for 100% of their program through fundraising. Your unit can too.

THESE BENEFIT ALL OF US!

When your unit participates in either of the Circle Ten Council money earning projects, you are NOT ONLY RAISING money for your unit, but you are HELPING THE COUNCIL provide the services your unit needs and enjoys on a regular basis. We need your help to continue to provide services and benefits such as:

  • Circle Ten Council Scouts use our four camps, year-round
  • Rank advancements are free to all Circle Ten Council Scouts
  • Continuous improvements and on-going maintenance to provide high-quality camps with a large variety of programs, high-adventure elements, and up-to-date facilities
  • The ScoutReach program, which brings Scouting to over 12,800 youth who would not otherwise be able to afford the Scouting experience

ALL non-council sponsored fundraising (wreath sales, mulch sales, garage sales, etc...) requires a Unit Money-Earning Permit Application.
