November is the time to be thankful, a time to remember and to appreciate those who enrich our lives.
I am thankful to the Circle Ten Council staff who have remained steadfast in their dedication to our mission, supporting our units, chartered organizations, volunteers and Scouts.
I am thankful to our Executive Board and donors who have continued to provide their guidance, encouragement and financial support.
I am thankful for the partnership with Region 10, who supports the school districts within our council territory. This partnership exposes school children to Scouting through delivery of the Learning on Location program at three of our council camps. In this first year of this program, we have shared our camps with 1,995 youth, 71 chaperones, 321 schools and 906 school staff.
I am thankful to our volunteer who continue to work with our Scouts, holding unit meetings and activities. Their passion for Scouting shows as they continue to find creative ways to invite new families to join the Scouting family. This fall we recruited over 6,000 new Scouts, and we are not done!
But mostly, I am thankful to our parents. You have entrusted us with your most precious commodity - your child. In a year where getting back to normal was desired, but not entirely possible, you worked with us to create a new normal where our kids can safely enjoy Scouting activities!
I wish you all blessed times with your family and friends.
Happy Thanksgiving!
