What an awesome summer! Our 4 camps, Camp Wisdom, Camp Constantin, Camp James Ray, and Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp were all open this summer and provided programs for Scouts and volunteers starting on May 26th.
As of today (July 19th) we still have NYLT and American Heritage Girls running programs at Camp James Ray and Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp. Over the summer we camped over 6000 youth and adults at our 4 camps and provided awesome programs, staff and facilities.
I want to thank our rangers for working so hard preparing our camps for the summer after the storms from the winter. Our rangers went above and beyond their responsibilities by working overtime to ensure camp preparation. Now that the summer, in the most part, is finished our rangers are taking time to repair several facilities such as restrooms, showers, water lines, HVAC units, and vehicle maintenance to name a few. Also, our rangers are taking some scheduled and well-deserved vacation time in August so that they and the camps will be ready for the fall events.
Along with vacations, there are several council trainings or events at Camp Constantin, Camp James Ray, and Camp Wisdom during the month of August. Below is a list of when specific camps are open for unit reservations. Camps will be closed in observance of Labor Day Weekend and ready for unit, district, and council events after Labor Day weekend.
- Camp Constantin will be open the weekends of August 20-22 and 27-29
- Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp will be open the weekends of August 6-8, August 20-22 and August 27-29
- Camp James Ray will be open the weekends of August 20-22 and August 27-29
- Camp Wisdom will be open the weekends of August 6-8, August 20-22 and August 27-29
