Understanding Circle Ten Council’s $55 Annual Council Fee
At Circle Ten Council, we want every young person to have the opportunity to experience the adventure, friendships, leadership development, and character-building that Scouting offers. We are committed to keeping Scouting strong, accessible, and ready to serve young people for generations to come.
To support that commitment, Circle Ten Council is introducing an annual Council Fee of $55 per registered youth and adult member beginning November 1st for 2027 renewals.
We know that an additional cost matters to families, and you deserve a clear explanation. This decision reflects two related needs: rising costs to operate and deliver local Scouting services, and the need for a more sustainable financial model that helps us plan responsibly for the future.
Why is the Council Fee needed?
The national registration fee supports Scouting America at the national level. Circle Ten Council, like other local councils, is responsible for the local resources, services, and infrastructure that help Scouting happen in our communities. The Council Fee will help support that local work, including:
- Programs and resources that help units provide meaningful Scouting experiences.
- Volunteer and unit support, including professional guidance, administrative services, and training resources.
- Camps and facilities that are an important part of the Scouting experience.
- Access and outreach to help bring Scouting to more families and communities across North Texas and Southern Oklahoma.
- Long-term planning so the council can better sustain its services as costs and needs change.
Our commitment to affordability
We recognize that families balance many important expenses. Cost should not become an unnecessary barrier to a young person’s participation in Scouting. As we implement the fee, Circle Ten Council will continue working to identify ways to support families facing financial challenges and to keep Scouting accessible to families from all backgrounds.
Building toward 2030
Circle Ten Council has set an ambitious vision: serving 30,000 Scouts by 2030. Reaching that goal means strengthening the Scouting experience today while building the capacity to serve more young people tomorrow.
The Council Fee is one part of that broader effort. It will help support local programs, volunteers, facilities, and services while giving the council a more dependable basis for planning. We are committed to responsible stewardship and to providing value to the families and volunteers who make Scouting possible.
Thank you
Our families and volunteers already give so much through their time, talents, and financial support. We are grateful for your commitment and for the opportunity to serve young people together.
Our goal is not simply to sustain Scouting as it exists today, but to build an even stronger Scouting movement for tomorrow. Together, we are investing in young people, stronger families, and the future leaders of our communities.
