September
|
|
September can sometimes feel like a haze of school lunches, soccer practices, and everything in between. We at Circle Ten Council are proud to be a part of your children's lives and to be that space where they can burn off some much-needed energy and be their most authentic, adventurous self.
Fall is a big time of year at Circle Ten as it is when we recruit our newest Scout cohorts to begin their Scouting journey. Circle Ten Council leaders are coming to schools and community spaces near you throughout the fall! If you or your kid knows someone who might be interested in Scouting, encourage them to Adventure On! with Circle Ten Council. |

Servant Leader, Basketball Champion, Eagle Scout -- Introducing Josh Hart
Myth: It's hard for kids to balance Scouting with other extracurriculars | Reality: Scouts can do it all.
Professional basketball player and Eagle Scout Josh Hart knows firsthand the impact of authentic Scouting experiences. His own journey from Cub Scout to Eagle Scout wasn't linear, but it helped shape the man he is today – lessons he's eager to pass on to the next generation. As the father of 3-year-old twin boys, Hart understands the value of giving young people opportunities to build community outside the classroom and learn responsibility, persistence, and other foundational skills.
"Scouting taught me discipline and what it means to be a man of your word. It showed me how to work with people toward a common goal, and how to push through difficult moments rather than retreat," said Josh Hart, collegiate and professional basketball champion and Scouting America ambassador. "Those values, instilled through Scouting and my faith, have shaped who I am today."
Scouts are athletes, Scouts are scientists, Scouts are artists, Scouts are presidents
Josh Hart sets the example -- becoming both an Eagle Scout and an accomplished professional athlete, he is a role model to younger generations that there is no limit to what can be accomplished.

It's never too early to spread a little holiday cheer!
We're excited to announce Scouting America's participation in the 10,000 for the Troops service project again this year, bringing a touch of home to military service members during the holiday season. Rather than waiting until November, we're encouraging Scouts, families, and volunteers to start creating holiday cards this summer.
Scouts of All Ages: Whether you're in Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, or Exploring, your cards can make a meaningful impact on someone serving far from home.
Adults Too: Parents, leaders, alumni, and supporters are invited to join in. This is a service project the entire Scouting family can participate in together.
SERVICE HOURS: Remember, a Scout provides service to others. Use this as an opportunity to participate in a service project toward rank advancements.
Use this as an opportunity for your den, patrol, crew, ship, unit, or family to and create heartfelt holiday messages. Every card helps remind our troops that they are remembered, appreciated, and supported by their communities back home.
Completed cards can now be turned in at either Circle Ten Council office (you don't have to wait until November).
Together, let's help deliver thousands of smiles and make this a holiday season to remember for those who serve. |
