2026 BALOO Training #5 (WIS).This training is aimed at Cub leaders.Camp Wisdom September 26 - 27, 2026 Hosted by Northern Trail, Heart of Dallas, Soaring Eagle, and Western Horizon Districts 

2026 IOLS Training #5 (WIS)September 26 - 27, 2026 at Camp Wisdom. Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the outdoors. 

2026 UNIVERSITY OF SCOUTING First United Methodist Church - Richardson on October 10, 2026




This is for parents and unit leaders, both troop and cub level.Pick up to 6 classes to attend. There are also some venturing, SPL and Eagle classes for youth.

Wood Badge 150 - Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp: October 23-25, 2026 and November 7-8, 2026

2026 WIS Cuboree #5 with Trail 2 Troop option November 6 - 8, 2026 at Camp Wisdom. Hosted by Northern Trail and Heart of Dallas districts.

The Gathering Save the Date for this Venturing event: November 14. The theme is Star Wars, "The Gathering Strikes Back". Camping is encouraged. Lunch on Saturday is provided.

We need volunteers to help staff both Cuboree and Trail to Troop. Heart of Dallas will also be helping with Cuboree. 
These events are a great opportunity to help Scouts experience the adventure, skills, fellowship, and traditions of Scouting. If you can help with either event, please consider joining the staff team!

Northern Trail Scouters, are you satisfied with the district activities? Do you want a voice in deciding future events?  If so, you are encouraged to attend our next Northern Trail District Committee Meeting on September 3 at 7:00pm in room 230 at the First United Methodist Church of Richardson All Scouters are welcome, and your unit’s Charter Organization Representative is especially encouraged to attend as a full member of the district committee.

Northern Trail Roundtable Meeting 



Come meet other Unit leaders, ask questions, network and learn from the topic of the month. We welcome all Adult volunteers. How do you know if you do not ask? Whether a new volunteer or lots of years in the saddle, it will be of value to you, to your unit and to our youth – it’s fun to network.

Send them to our new Roundtable Commissioner, Bram Franklin, so we can share them at Roundtable!  Your summer adventure could inspire another unit!  📈 Growing Scouting Resources  Growing Scouting goes beyond School Night for Scouting, and it affects more than just Cub Scouts. Come to Roundtable to discuss other ways to grow your Scouting unit and strengthen your program.

Recruiting Doesn't End at School Night 

School Nights for Scouting are underway, and getting families through the door is only the first step. The follow-up afterward can make all the difference.

⏱️ 48 HOURS 
This week, I'm asking every pack to make sure every interested family gets a personal follow-up within 48 hours.

A quick call, text, or email welcoming them and telling them exactly when and where to come next can turn interest into membership. 

🧭 Commissioners can help!

Ask your Unit Commissioner for assistance following up with leads, identifying families who haven't completed registration, or simply making sure no one falls through the cracks. 
Recruit them. Welcome them. Get them Scouting.
