🇺🇸 SPIRIT OF 1776 🇺🇸  Trail to Troop has been rescheduled! The event will now take place November 6-8 at Camp Wisdom.  🙋 STAFF NEEDED!  We need volunteers to help staff both Cuboree and Trail to Troop. Heart of Dallas will also be helping with Cuboree.  These events are a great opportunity to help Scouts experience the adventure, skills, fellowship, and traditions of Scouting. If you can help with either event, please consider joining the staff team!  🏕️ Come be part of the team!

🏕️ Have a Voice in Your District

Northern Trail Scouters, are you satisfied with the district activities? Do you want a voice in deciding future events?  If so, you are encouraged to attend our next Northern Trail District Committee Meeting on September 3 at 7:00pm in room 230 at the First United Methodist Church of Richardson All Scouters are welcome, and your unit’s Charter Organization Representative is especially encouraged to attend as a full member of the district committee.

Northern Trail Roundtable Meeting 



Come meet other Unit leaders, ask questions, network and learn from the topic of the month. We welcome all Adult volunteers. How do you know if you do not ask? Whether a new volunteer or lots of years in the saddle, it will be of value to you, to your unit and to our youth – it’s fun to network. 

📍 Roundtable is the 2nd Thursday of every month.

August 13	School Night for Scouting and popcorn fundraiser. Any unit attending will get an extra 1% commissions on popcorn sales! There will also be fundraising bonuses for units distributing and displaying school night recruitment signs. Roundtable starts at 7, but doors open at 6:30 for snacks, fellowship and help from your district leaders.
September 10	The topic will be “What I did this Summer.” here’s your chance to answer everyone’s favorite question and essay topic for the first day of school. We would like to hear about your experiences, both in council and in cooler climates. Come prepared to share your stories and to meet directors of Circle 10’s summer and winter camp. Don’t be afraid to share those photos and videos.
October 8	There will be a critical update on registrations and renewals. We will bring an experts to walk you through the newly revised process and will share opportunities for face-to-face help and troubleshooting.

I’m excited to begin serving as Northern Trail’s new District Commissioner. Our Commissioner Corps goal is simple: to be a resource and partner to our units by helping solve problems, connect leaders with resources, and support strong youth programs. 
🎯 This Month's Focus: Recruiting & Retention
For Packs: Take advantage of School Nights for Scouting and follow up quickly with every interested family. Just as important: keep the families you recruit! Scouting America recommends three simple principles for first-year retention: 
Make It Personal.   •   Make It Fun.   •   Make It Easy. 
For Troops: Now is the time to build relationships with Packs and Arrow of Light dens. Consider Den Chiefs, joint activities, troop visits, and other opportunities to engage AOL Scouts well before crossover.

Cub Scout Camping is fun and only allowed at approved camps. Make your reservations in advance for your whole pack to enjoy the outdoors. Click on Circle Ten Camps for information on the 4 Circle 10 camps and all the other approved Cub Scout Camping locations at the bottom of the page for your Cub Scout Pack to have an adventure.
