Back to School. Back to Scouting!

Let's Make This Our Biggest Year Yet.

The first day of school isn't just the start of a new school year.

It's the start of our Scouting year.

Families are settling into routines, looking for activities, and deciding what they'll be involved in this year. That makes the next few weeks the single biggest opportunity we have to welcome new families into Scouting.

Here's how every volunteer can help.

Be Visible at School

Show your school that Scouting is active and engaged.

  • Volunteer to help teachers get classrooms ready.
  • Lend a hand at Meet the Teacher nights.
  • Help with school clean-up projects.
  • Move furniture, organize libraries, or assist wherever help is needed.

When people see Scouts serving, they remember us.

And don't forget to wear your uniform! Encourage your Scouts to wear their uniform or Scout shirt on the same day whenever appropriate. Every uniform is a conversation starter.

Everyone Is a Recruiter

The most powerful recruiting tool isn't a flier or Facebook ad.

It's you.

Invite the families you already know.

  • Your child's classmates
  • Sports teammates
  • Neighbors
  • Church friends
  • Families from dance, band, robotics, or other activities

Friends invite friends. A simple, personal invitation is still the #1 reason families join Scouting.

Plan an Amazing Year

Adventure doesn't happen by accident.

Take time now to map out your year's activities. Campouts, hikes, service projects, pinewood derby, advancement, district events, camporees ... we've got an incredible calendar ahead.

And while you're planning...

Reserve your summer camp spot early! Registering now lets families spread payments over several months, making camp easier to budget while guaranteeing your unit's place.

Take Care of Your Volunteer Checklist

Before life gets busy, log into my.scouting and make sure you're ready for the year.

A few minutes now means one less thing to worry about later.

This is our season.

The uniforms are coming out of the closet. Schools are filling with excited families. New adventures are waiting.

Let's be visible. Let's be welcoming. Let's invite. Let's serve.

Together, let's make this the biggest and best Scouting year yet.
