Summer is an exciting time across Circle Ten Council. Scouts are exploring the outdoors, serving their communities, and preparing for an unforgettable summer.

Leadership Luncheon Featuring Dr. Condoleezza Rice

Join Circle Ten Council for an inspiring afternoon with Dr. Condoleezza Rice—former U.S. Secretary of State, educator, author, and one of America's most respected leaders.

This special luncheon supports Scouting programs that help young people across our community build character, leadership, and confidence for life. Hear Dr. Rice share her unique perspective on leadership, service, and overcoming challenges while helping ensure more youth have access to the life-changing opportunities Scouting provides.

We invite our Scouting family to join us for what promises to be one of the year's most memorable events.

Special rate for Scouting families: Individual tickets are available for $250. For details, contact Karen.Thunert@scouting.org.

Why Eagle Scout Still Matters in 2026

There are very few achievements that people recognize instantly across generations.

Eagle Scout is one of them.

For more than 100 years, the Eagle Scout rank has represented leadership, perseverance, service, and character. It is not simply an award earned at the end of a checklist. It is the result of years of growth, challenge, teamwork, and personal development.

And in 2026, it may matter more than ever.

Take Your Leadership to the Next Level with NYLT

Great troops, crews, and ships are built by great youth leaders—and National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is where those leaders are made.

NYLT is Scouting’s premier youth leadership course, designed to help Scouts strengthen their communication skills, build confidence, lead teams, solve problems, and turn goals into action. Whether serving as a Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Crew Officer, Boatswain, or simply looking to grow as a leader, NYLT provides skills that benefit Scouts in Scouting, school, sports, and future careers.

There’s still time to participate in NYLT this year! Scouts can choose from our final summer course or get a jump start on next year by registering for the winter course.

If your Scout is ready to lead, inspire others, and make an even greater impact in their unit, NYLT is the next step on their Scouting journey.

Seats are limited, so register today and invest in a leadership experience that will last a lifetime.

The Most Important Recruiting Tool You're Probably Not Using

For many families, the first interaction they have with your unit isn't at a meeting.

It's online.

When a parent searches for Scouting in their area, visits BeAScout, or follows a link from one of our recruitment campaigns, your BeAScout pin becomes your unit's digital storefront.

And just like a storefront, first impressions matter.

Christmas in July: 10,000 for the Troops

It's never too early to spread a little holiday cheer!

We're excited to announce Scouting America's participation in the 10,000 for the Troops service project again this year, bringing a touch of home to military service members during the holiday season. Rather than waiting until November, we're encouraging Scouts, families, and volunteers to start creating holiday cards this summer.

Cub Scouts: This is a great opportunity to work toward the Summertime Fun Adventure while giving back to those who serve our country.

Scouts of All Ages: Whether you're in Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, or Exploring, your cards can make a meaningful impact on someone serving far from home.

Adults Too: Parents, leaders, alumni, and supporters are invited to join in. This is a service project the entire Scouting family can participate in together.

Use this as an opportunity for your den, patrol, crew, ship, unit, or family to gather over the summer and create heartfelt holiday messages. Every card helps remind our troops that they are remembered, appreciated, and supported by their communities back home.

Completed cards can now be turned in at either Circle Ten Council office (you don't have to wait until November).

Together, let's help deliver thousands of smiles and make this a holiday season to remember for those who serve.

Better communication. Stronger units. More adventures. That's where we're headed.

We know your inbox is busy, and we want to make sure the information you receive from Circle Ten Council is timely, relevant, and useful.

Over the next few months, you'll begin to notice some changes to our communication strategy. Rather than sending the same information to everyone, we'll be delivering content that is more tailored to your role and your family's Scouting journey.

Families will receive information about upcoming adventures and opportunities. Leaders will receive resources, tools, and important updates to help their units succeed. New families will receive guidance to help them get the most out of Scouting and discover all the opportunities available to them.

Our goal is simple: provide the right information, to the right people, at the right time.

We're excited about this next step in improving the Circle Ten experience and helping every Scout, parent, and volunteer get the most from Scouting.

Stay tuned—there's more to come!
