The Southern Region of the Boy Scouts of America generously matched all funds raised for tornado relief by our council. With a matching contribution of $3,000.00, and $3,000.00 raised by Circle Ten staff and volunteers, the council’s tornado relief fund raised a total of $6,000.00 to assist Scouting families that were affected by the December 26 tornado outbreak in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
“We would like to thank the Southern Region and the Circle Ten family for getting behind this effort. Your generosity will mean so much to the Scouts and Scouters impacted by the storms of December 26th,” Circle Ten Council Scout Executive/CEO Pat Currie said after receiving the $3,000.00 check from Associate Regional Director Patrick Wedding. Families in need have been identified by volunteers from the Garland and Rowlett area and will be contacted regarding assistance.
