Among other tenets, the Scout Law requires that a Scout is KIND. To reinforce this principle, Circle Ten Council has started an anti-bullying initiative with a goal of creating a “bullying-free” culture in Scouting in our 24-county service area that covers North Texas and southern Oklahoma. This update highlights our summer camp staff leader training sessions. Thousands of youth will participate in summer camp activities at our local camps and we are pleased to share that every one of their staff members has been trained to recognize, respond, and report bullying. A special thank you goes to...

The Circle Ten Council is very appreciative of the partnership that we have had with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a chartering organization for 105 years, we have partnered to support youth in developing leadership skills and learning values to help them with their religious pursuits. The Circle Ten Council respects the decision announced by the Church regarding their support of Scouting units as chartered organizations. We know that Scouting works … Scouting matters ... Scouting lasts … a lifetime. Therefore, we encourage our local LDS youth to continue their Scouting...

Just as before, these Scouts will earn merit badges, go camping and work toward the Eagle Scout Award. The organization name, Boy Scouts of America, will NOT change.  Cub Scouts, Venturing, Exploring, and Sea Scouts will remain the same as well. If you have completed the new BSA online Youth Protection Training course on or after March 13, 2018, you no longer need to take a classroom-facilitated version of the course to attend a licensed camp (camps of four or more days). If you have not taken the new BSA online Youth Protection Training course, you must do so by October 1, 2018 or you won’t be able to re-charter with your unit.
