Camp Ranger Position

Seeking energetic & self-motivated individuals to serve as a Camp Ranger. This position is responsible for the supervision, operation, and maintenance of physical facilities and property in the area to which he or she is assigned. The ranger serves an ambassador of goodwill as well as an enforcer of rules and regulations. 

Compensation and Benefits 

The Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of America offers a competitive package of benefits to team members. The benefits offered are considered to be among the best in the nonprofit sector. The package includes major medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage in addition to long-term disability, accident, and life insurance, and retirement plans. The starting salary for a Camp Ranger is $25,000. Annual salary adjustments are based on an individual's contributions and overall performance. The compensation package also includes a mobile allowance ($100), onsite residential housing, and camp truck for Scout business are provided 

Qualifications for Employment 

Do you have the background needed for a career as a Camp Ranger? To be successful, our team members must multi-task and combine many skills to get the job done. The basic qualifications are: 

  • United States citizenship or declared intention to become a U.S. citizen 
  • Adult – 21 years of age 
  • People-oriented, having the ability to work well with the Scouting family and the public 
  • Ability to effectively enforce established council policies and procedures 
  • Able to perform a variety of basic maintenance skills, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, and grounds maintenance 
  • Experience in using hand tools 
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, which includes weekends and holidays 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point) 
  • Believe in the Boy Scouts of America and willing to subscribe to its principles and standards 
  • Willingness to reside on camp grounds 
  • Eligible to become a member of the boy scouts of America – a criminal background will be performed
