Dallas Safari Club Grant Supports Conservation, Hunting, and Fishing Efforts in the Circle Ten Council

The Circle Ten Council recently received a $25,000 grant from the DSC Foundation, a charitable arm of the Dallas Safari Club, which will provide equipment for educational programs that promote conservation, hunting, and fishing. This grant will assist in the purchasing of ammunition along with rifle, shotgun, and archery equipment.

We are excited to now offer Action Archery as a new camp program this year, joining the Cowboy Action program recently introduced. These programs provide a new, exciting way for our youth to interact with the shooting sports program.

In 2017 Circle Ten Council had

  • 1,114 young people earn merit badges in rifle, shotgun, and archery during the five weeks of summer camp.
  • 3.557 young men complete a conservation merit badge at one of two Circle Ten Council summer camps.
  • 257 adult leaders trained in NRA courses
    • NRA Range Safety Officer
    • NRA Rifle Instructor
    • NRA Shotgun Instructor
    • NRA Muzzleloader Instructor
    • NRA Pistol Instructor
    • USA Archery Level 1

Thank you DSC Foundation for your assistance in educating our youth in the core tenets of the Boy Scouts of America which includes conservation, leave no trace, leadership, and character development.
